Exhibition "Love messages from Vermeer"
Many paintings of Johannes Vermeer are about love. Often it is more than obvious, but other times he relates to love in a very sensitive and symbolic way by painting certain objects or details. People living in the age of Vermeer were very familiar with these details, but today not every observer knows the true meanings.
In the new exhibiton ‘Love messages from Vermeer’ on the 2nd floor of the Vermeer Centre these objects and details are shown and explained. This includes themes as the romantic love, the seducing love, the paid love and the unaccessible love.
The secret "love messages" from Vermeer are revealed with text and images. Suggestion: have a closer look at Vermeers work in the cellar after you visited the 2nd floor. You will be surprised!
